Both of those are pretty interesting questions. He doesn't know how to cope, really. So he wavers between, "Oh, I can relax?" and "OH NO I RELAXED TOO MUCH" because his experience of things is that his life sucks and this is why he can't have nice things. I mean, he doesn't want people to be mean to him, it's just that he is expecting it to happen at any point. So, it's something that is really going to get to him for awhile.
Alternatively, his first game being what it was-- didn't even feel real? It was like he wasn't even there. And he kind of suspects he cost his team the win for being too... him...
