First impressionsss?

TEAMMATE.

Emil adores all of Peridot right now, but he especially adores Ven because Ven was SUPER FRIENDLY TO HIM. And has been showing him everything, and has been, IN GENERAL, super friendly and helpful to him. Ven made a terrifying new situation easier for him to cope with, and for that, you have all of Emil's dere.

He pretty much feels safe around Ven, which is a lot for Emil, because he just... feels unsafe all the time? So, that kind of helped with easing his transition into Aather, and it makes him a lot more willing and likely to go to Ven with ALL THE PROBLEMS and ALL THE EXCITE. He just wants to share things with him and, well, be his friend.

THIS WILL GET MORE IN DEPTH AS HE GETS TO KNOW VEN MORE. But!! Reverse?

So Emil was really Ven's first experience with getting a new teammate who he a) liked on sight and b) seriously clicked with, and GOD, overwhelming dere pretty much off the bat. Emil's adorable and moe and friendly and really kind and really brave and kind of traumatized, and Ven just wants to love on him forever. And it doesn't hurt that Ven's overall teamdere is at pretty much an all-time high right now. So the fact that Emil's a teammate means a hell of a lot to him, which combined with the fact that he just plain really likes him is just like...yeah. If Emil hadn't been willing to take damage in that first game of his, Ven would've accepted putting more points on Kunzite/knights without a fight, which for him is huge.

...w-what exactly is up with your evil squirrel self and how is that going to be unlocked and function in Aather? I do not know canon so I am like bzwuhhh?

OKAY SO

Technically, the evil squirrel is the real personality. like, Emil is only a part of him. He's the real deal. The problem is he is TOO ANGRY TO COPE. Seriously, Ratatosk is genocidal, and when he's unlocked, someone is going to get hurt. He's built up a ton of rage and hate at the human race/half elves and just... yes.

Anyway, he'll be unlocked when Emil gets his 'pact with Ratatosk' skill back. Which basically gives Emil three things: The ability to make pacts with monsters, the ability to defend himself, and the CAPABILITY to perform artes. What will happen in Aather is similar to canon: the stronger Emil gets, the more Ratatosk will emerge. And/or if Emil is ever SERIOUSLY THREATENED, Ratatosk will come out. And then after awhile, there will be long, long stretches of Ratatosk.

SO WHAT DOES VEN DO ON A DAILY BASIS?

Besides that! I did the world's wordiest off-screen meme somewhere, but basically: Ven gets up at dawn, goes to Lloyd's sword practice with Roxas, sometimes watches Josh do his forms, and then takes a bath to wash off the manly stench. He has clinic shifts! I just don't know when they are, I should poke Yukio's player someday. Beyond that, it varies, but he likes to keep BUSY. Ven is very much of the work hard play hard school of life; he'll drill, spar, practice stuff, usually has a quest or two going, and if he's not busy with something else he'll pretty much run all over the place being social. He'll often visit Roxas at Emerald. (Nookie time with Josh isn't daily, more like every 2-3 days, but yes.) He is a busy busy hyper monkey, and will pretty much keep it up until a couple of hours after nightfall, whereupon he'll crash for a full night's sleep and do it all again. \:D/

What was Emil's opinion on Ven being all "this is the lowdown on shitty games RIGHT NAO" during that mingle? (I'm kind of curious, because. There's a story behind why Ven was dead set on telling even the moeest new teammate about that sort of thing, even if it stressed him the fuck out.)
