Q-Question Meme

Okay, so I did one recently with Judy! However, I have Emil now, and Emil has PACKED ON THE COMMENTS.

So, ask me anything with him.

If you missed the chance to ask Judy questions, you can ask them here too.

OKAY SO MITHOS ON EMIL

Person-to-person Mithos really really likes Emil. HE LIKES EMIL SO MUCH. There are so many dere kittens and rainbows there it is rather ridiculous. Sharing! Deretalks! Draping and handholding! He thinks Emil is adorable and actually pretty damn admirable and brave, for all that he's shy and disoriented; it takes stones to find yourself in a trauma game the day after you pop into a strange new world, have to discuss how much pain to suffer and inflict on yourself and others, and not have a breakdown or even a 'why meee' over it. He absolutely would like to be friends with Emil and teach him reading and writing if he likes, and encourage him along as much as he needs, and. I don't know, it's been two days and already Mithos would jump in front of hypothetical fairytale trucks for him.

Memories and canon baggage-wise there are metric tons of awkward there and Mithos is actually not talking about it because he legit doesn't know how he's going to do it yet. He has enough memories that he doesn't think Emil is someone who was directly involved with the whole deal re: overturning the world regeneration system and destroying Cruxis, so in turn he doesn't believe Emil is going to get any memories that directly tell him Mithos is a massive fuckup world ruiner. Which. Makes it harder because then it is Mithos's choice (as far as he knows) as to what details to tell Emil, and Mithos is pretty sure that no matter what he says it's going to be a RELATIONSHIP BREAKER. It was bad enough having to confess it to people like Lloyd or Zelos, who were directly affected by living in that messed-up system -- but who'd also had time to build strong relationships with Mithos while they were all amnesiacs and had no reason not to be genuine and had no clue how messed up everything actually was. He doesn't get that grace period with Emil; he knows that while he is being genuinely nice to Emil he is also lying by omission the longer he tries to go on being friends without telling him who he is and what he did to their home, and he knows he owes it to Emil – and to anyone else who comes into Aather from Aselia – to explain.

That's a part of why he doesn't address the Lloyd thing, but really if Emil asks his basic reasoning there is very simple! He is sad to hear that Emil's parents are possibly dead because of Lloyd, but he doesn't disbelieve it or resent Emil for it just because Lloyd is his best friend. Lloyd had to kill a lot of people on his journey, on purpose or accidentally; it was a thing! He trusts Emil and Lloyd to work that out between themselves one way or another, though of course he does hope Emil can move past it eventually and learn to live with Lloyd.

...he legit thinks the people in Luin were dicks though; he is not shy about expressing that. Oh my god why would you blame someone for not wanting to hero-worship this dude he thinks killed his parents, there is no excuse to act like that.

There are a couple of things keeping him from breaking down right now and laying the explanation out flat for Emil! The first is that it is just unreasonable to pile something that huge on someone who hasn't even earned back two memories of his own or found his footing in Aather. The second is that he's still suffering from his heartgame effect and not feeling remorse; he is 95% simply unable to feel bad about not telling Emil yet. This is probably rather fortunate because the idea of Mithos trying to blithely explain to Emil that he ruined his world while obviously not caring very much about it at the time . . . is kind of horrifying.

GIVE HIM A FEW DAYS FOR IT TO WEAR OFF.

...as for Mithos on Ratatosk! Mithos doesn't yet have memories of his specific pact or smaller interactions with Ratatosk. What he has is a) the fact that restoring Ratatosk's tree to save the world was his ultimate goal as a hero, b) starting to win an already enraged Ratatosk over to the idea that hey, if he trusted him to help, it might still work out, c) the significance of bonds and friendship with the Summon Spirits, and d) turning around and betraying Ratatosk and every other Summon Spirit and everything they stood for without a second thought . . . and killing Ratatosk for good, as far as he knew. He knows he loved the Summon Spirits and -- while that is dulled and mostly forgotten in canon because four thousand years of stupid, in Aather he got the memory of all that as freshly as though it had just happened. So it's like . . . shit, not only did I selfishly subject the people of whole worlds to cyclical suffering, I did it by destroying everything and everyone else I held dear.

Suddenly realizing Emil is Ratatosk is going to bring up that old pain all over again, and also complete and utter panic because there were a lot of people he would have expected in Aather but supposedly dead ex-boyfriend god squirrel was definitely not one of them. From there he knows it is definitely just a matter of time before Ratatosk remembers the completely unforgiveable thing Mithos did to him and it is even more imperative that he give Emil/Ratatosk the downlow before he manages to add AND THEN I MADE YOU BELIEVE I WAS YOUR FRIEND HERE UNDER FALSE PRETENSES BECAUSE I WAS TOO CHICKEN TO TELL YOU to his list of sins. And it is going to wreck him a lot, honestly, because he loves Emil and memory circumstances means he also loves Ratatosk without that feeling having faded or dulled any, and it's a dilemma that can't be resolved without a breaking of trust, and Mithos absolutely will not allow himself to do anything but suck it up and deal with it himself because it's no one's fault but his; the whole horrible situation came about because of his past actions and it's his responsibility.

So in conclusion it is rainbows now but tears and prison later and Mithos is already one hundred percent sure that in the end Emil is going to hate him and be completely justified about it. Adding Ratatosk into the mix ups it to like . . . ten thousand percent sure.

THAT WAS REALLY LONG AND ALSO MONSTROUSLY DEPRESSING UM.

. . . do you have any Emil or Ratatosk songs . . .
