Because she knows about his rage, and doesn't ask the type of probing questions everyone else does. And also she admitted that she has some understanding of what he feels. So, that means a lot to him, especially because Ratatosk has such a hard time with being on a team. He's a lot more comfortable in the protector/knight role than he is in any other role, but he's competing with Cassie a bit for that role, sometimes. And Ven, sometimes.
Which I think feeds into him and Cassie clashing, because he's trying to compartmentalize her, and she's trying to compartmentalize him, and things just don't fit.
