YES YOU FREAKING DO

LLOYD IRVING!!! IT IS REALLY TEMPTING TO DO YOUR ENTIRE ANSWER IN CAPS LOCKS, BECAUSE THAT IS THE AMOUNT OF CONFUSION, ANGER AND OMG NO I THINK I LIKE HIM YOU MAKE EMIL FEEL AFTER ONE DAY.

But I will be nice and type this up like a civilized person. With less caps lock and more feeeeeelings. Because Lloyd gives him all the feelings. As far as Emil is concerned, Lloyd should be a very, very simple matter for him! Lloyd killed his parents, therefore he hates Lloyd and he wants the chance to avenge them! Granted, this is more... his memory of his feelings on the matter, rather than knowing explicitly his parents were killed in cold blood when they had done nothing wrong. So, he is extrapolating a lot, which makes him a lot more... open? I guess? to the suggestions he wait until he knows more than he would be if he had all his memories and he was just a beginning of the game Emil.

And then there is the fact that, regardless of his feelings, Lloyd is not acting like he has anything to be ashamed of! Which is kind of hard for Emil to rationalized because, what the heck, he should be ashamed. But besides that, he's making all these efforts to make sure Emil is taken care of and is feeling the way he wants to, DESPITE HAVING FRIENDS TELLING EMIL THAT THIS CAN'T POSSIBLY BE RIGHT!! So, from there stems a lot of his "staaaaaaaaaaare what do I do, Lloyd why are you doing this" feelings. So, yeah, expect to get stared at while Emil tries to decide HOW he should treat you.

Finally, Lloyd is also extremely likable. THIS HAS NOT CHANGED. And Emil wants to just adore him, but his issues are pretty significant. But it's hard for him to REBUFF LLOYD IRVING'S BEING LLOYD IRVING. And I don't think it's something Emil could do effectively anyway, even if he focused on it. So sometimes he forgets and will act friendly at Lloyd, until he mentally shakes himself and goes "What am I doing?!"

So, Lloyd is a special snowflake Emil has no clue how to cope with.

Lloyd really like...d Judy :( he had the feeling that she had stuff going on underneath her calm surface, but he didn't really get any glimpses of it that she didn't show him — sometimes he's just not the most perceptive guy. He didn't really care! She was Moonrise and he trusted her. He thought of her as someone calm and in control and able to sort things right out, and knew she was sexy and teasing and had a great sense of humor, and he cared about her :(a they were not the closest ever but he always felt like their relationship was very on the level and he counted her as a friend. If she had asked more about his past he would have told her, but he'd also have happily just hung out with her and talked about climbing trees. That part of their relationship never changed.

EMIL

Lloyd... isn't ashamed of killing Emil's parents! Because he figures, sure, I killed a lot of people. It would be pretty awful of him if he killed all those people believing it was the best thing he could do at the time, then changed his mind just because he met a family member of one of the victims, to his thinking — that'd be like saying that he didn't understand the pain and waste he'd been causing before meeting that person and hadn't understood the full weight of what he was doing. And while that might have been the case for some of his journey, it definitely wasn't by the end. So he's not ashamed! But he wishes Emil hadn't suffered and he wants to take responsibility for it :B so in his mind that is making sure Emil is looked after, since Emil is right there.

On a person-to-person level he likes Emil fine. He's an adorable kid and a good person :(a he would like to help him get stronger and see that he has a positive Aathersperience. He'd say "like to be his friend" but he's totally aware that he might well be unforgivable to Emil, and even if Emil decides to get along with him there is nothing saying that "be friends with your parents' killer" is a legitimate expectation to have of anyone. So whether they'll be friends or enemies is all on Emil's side as far as he's concerned. He will treat Emil the same either way. I should also note that he respects Emil a lot because he figures being thrown into a situation amnesiac with only a memory about SOME GUY WHO YOU WERE ABUSED OVER AND WHO KILLED YOUR PARENTS, who is then right there in front of you, is pretty tough to deal with.

Now that Emil has showed him that memory, he's got a lot of ?!?!? RARGH feelings in Emil's direction, though not directed at Emil at all, because the thought of someone using his name as an excuse to beat a shy kid up is repellant to him. LIKING ME SHOULDN'T BE ONE MORE EXCUSE FOR YOU FUCKERS TO HURT PEOPLE >( he's already resolving to go try to yell at Luin for it when he gets back, if it's still a problem. If he finds out about anyone in Aather being mean to Emil because Emil doesn't like him for perfectly good reasons to not like him he will yell at that person also. (Though he'd feel bad about anyone using his name as an excuse to beat people up for not liking him, the fact that Emil has such very good reasons to dislike him adds extra oomph — Lloyd wouldn't have blamed himself if he'd been unable to deal with Kratos's betrayal or Mithos's long litany of crimes and keep liking them, for example, and unlike Emil and him, he was close to both of them before he found anything out.) GUILTING OR ABUSING SOMEONE FOR NOT LIKING ANYONE, ESPECIALLY THE PERSON WHO KILLED HIS PARENTS, IS NOT OKAY. DDD<

It's... pretty good... Lelouch is attempting to be honest with her sort of and asking her what it is she actually wants, which is terrifying! Rolo has also been up-front with her about his shankbaby past. No one talks to Shirley about anything (SORRY SHIRLEY...) so that relationship is triv positive, and Suzaku hasn't talked to her onscreen for a while, but I assume they have pet Suzaku's cat at some point. So she's kind of like aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa but none of it is exactly negative per se, just an incredible upheaval of her normal way of doing things. She is flipping tables internally and shaky as hell but holding well, as she does. TIME TO SMILE MORE!

How is Emil dealing with all the friendliness from every side... alternately, how did he deal with his first game being a traumagame?

Both of those are pretty interesting questions. He doesn't know how to cope, really. So he wavers between, "Oh, I can relax?" and "OH NO I RELAXED TOO MUCH" because his experience of things is that his life sucks and this is why he can't have nice things. I mean, he doesn't want people to be mean to him, it's just that he is expecting it to happen at any point. So, it's something that is really going to get to him for awhile.

Alternatively, his first game being what it was-- didn't even feel real? It was like he wasn't even there. And he kind of suspects he cost his team the win for being too... him... So he tries not to think about it too much. That game happened? Noooo, nooooo. It didn't actually happen. So, he's kind of in denial atm.

If Emil had asked Lloyd to name him, what name would he give him?

I WAS GLAD THAT WAS UNLIKELY TO HAPPEN 'cause I didn't think Lloyd would have any good ideas... he might've named him Gem for his eyes. He will probably also remark on the "Emil the Brave" thing now :Da

Will Ratatosk direct his I HAVE SO MUCH HATE RN when he happens, the way he did in canon? If I am recalling this correctly he stayed pretty much in line with Emil's desires when he first emerged.

Yes! He will focus it on Lloyd, and it will be kind of sad at the same time. But, I think he'll be a little more dangerous than in canon because Marta was very much a mitigating factor for him? He'd have done a lot more damage had Marta not been there to stop him. I'm pretty much giving it up as a given that when Emil earns that skill back, someone will probably get hurt. And if they aren't rescued, they'll probably be killed. Just because Ratatosk is that full of rage.

But I think Lloyd can handle it!

... What is Lloyd going to think when Ratatosk emerges?

Maybe Peridot will be able to help with that! ...some of Peridot... I mean, Cassie could nervestrike him :|a but yeah people trying to kill Lloyd is pretty whatever for him really.

...HE WILL BE CONFUSED... and also kind of wonder if half the people from his world are crazy secretly... he doesn't really have a problem with the idea of people focusing anger on him, though, especially when he thinks it is probably legit! So he will just be like :\a okay, I'm not going to let you kill me but you can feel that way, whatever. Emil will probably be way more horrified at his own rage than Lloyd when Ratatosk switches off again. I am honestly looking forward to it because Lloyd doesn't interact much with Ratatosk directly in canon, since the "Emil doesn't understand Ratatosk's nature and lets Ratatosk run with things for long periods of time" period coincides with the "Lloyd is being DMC4 Dante and fucks off after two-comment threads" period. Maybe I can also top the angry squirrel :U

Do you see Ratatosk as having insecurities? Like, does he ever self-examine and go "WHY AM I SO ANGRY" while he's still amnesiac in canon, do you think - or does he just use his rage to block out the sads?

Hmm... No, I don't think he does. Or if he does, it's because he worries about what Marta thinks of him, because of how he lines up with Emil's desires at first. I think he sees his anger as perfectly rational, even while everyone else around him is just stunned by what he's willing to do, when it really makes a lot more sense to just walk away slowly.

Ratatosk gets the lucky break of pushing off his insecurities and doubts onto Emil, so he can act without worrying about the consequences, because Emil will deal with the fallout one way or another.

Do you think the Netted Lion would like someone like Ratatosk to play with? :|a

Mmmmaybe! It depends on how Ratatosk develops, since obviously he will have different development from in canon in Aather as well. :|a The Lion is interested in bound objects, and Ratatosk in canon is very much bound to his anger and pain, even if he's consciously in denial of the part where he hurts. It's going to depend on whether Ratatosk in Aather decides to embrace that aspect of himself or not and how much. The Lion would see him as firmly bound pre-canon and fraying progressively over the course of it, and then undoing like... one knot in endgame. Ratatosk pre-canon would definitely be of interest to the Lion, and Ratatosk during canon would be as well, just for the "...but isn't it easier to just stay within your chains? Don't waver. Just accomplish the role you have set yourself and deny anything else" part. Ratatosk in endgame, not so much, because while he's still limiting himself incredibly he's not likely to go back to blind wrathful fixity and hidden trauma, either.

That's a long way to say "idk yet we'll see," but Ratatosk will certainly be interesting to him early in his arc regardless. :Db

Now, since I've just talked about mine some... have you ever considered apping a Persona? What would they be if you did?

I have! This mostly came up when I was reading Fables, but I always thought apping a fairytale type would be fun. But I waver between thinking I would app a Frau Totenkinder type (basically, the evil witch who eats children in every story) or going for the more Morgan Le Fay type.

I probably would do Frau Totenkinder, however, because I still am trying to decide if I want to app Morgana from Merlin to Aather one day because she would be fun to figure out.

I also just realized Frau Totenkinder would be like. Mother Goose's mortal enemy and that's super fun. :D

What type of game would you like to run one day?

I WANT TO RUN ALL THE DERPY SURVEY TAKE-HOME GAMES... stuff about gossip and intelligence and feelings :U ALL THE STUFF THE LION HATES so I can't do now without stealing someone else's Persona!
