But John likes Kira well enough! She seems a lot more serious and... well balanced in some ways, personality-wise, than his friends and family are. But she's still willing to indulge and roll with John's more mischievous and, well, ADHD side. She'll talk about Con Air, she'll listen to him prattle on about his memories, even when his memories make no sense to him and are otherwise pretty horrifying... John would talk to Kira about just about anything. And while that is not super, duper difficult to get to that point with him... it's still important, because he is an overly sincere idiot.

She likes John! She likes all of Kunzite, but Kira has a weakness for the overly sincere types. His antics are cute and they're a pretty nice distraction and really she just finds him adorable. IF IT EVER CAME UP, she would yan super hard for him, because she's always particularly protective of her overly sincere people. Though she'd prefer to yan without him knowing. (You know safe people, John.)
She is kind of worried about his whole not thinking about the terrible things. On one hand, it does help make him manageable in the trauma games and apparently help with his memories which she never knows how to react to. On the other hand, Kira is VERY AWARE of how harmful not acknowledging reality can be. But she's just kind of watching because shouldn't destroy teammate's world view.
Also his world is weird.
How about Mako?

He's a little more forgiving of things being different between worlds, but this skill thing is like... "What..." So, he's like. :|a? He needs to talk to her a little more on his own to make up his mind-- he can tell whatever it is, it screws with his feelings but he's not sure if it's something she wants to do, based off of her reaction. Otherwise, she's been a voice of sensibility for him before, especially with regards to his brother. So, he. He trusts her to a certain level!
He knows that she tries to be good people. At the very least.

She likes Mako well enough. Not enough to define him as 'her thing,' but likes him enough that when combined with being Bolin's thing, it makes her think twice before letting him get hurt. (This is actually pretty rare to apply to her Things' things.) She also likes him enough to FEEL BAD when her charm magic is working on him specifically. She also finds him cute and incredibly awkward. She finds it amusing. She's also realizing the amount of trust Mako is putting in her because of that. Since she knew weeks about the whole dead parents thing before Bolin is one thing and more recently that Mako didn't outright disapprove of her and Bolin when he realized she was kind of messed up. Whenever she actually gets around to taking her Manipulation skill (which has a lot of her normal people understanding), she'll realize how much trust he had to have to do that. She's got an idea because she deliberately picked through her memories for better understanding of that sort of situation, but it's still one place removed.
She's also pretty grateful to him! She really doesn't want to hurt her Things, especially not because of her crazy, and really the first point where Kira started to really trust Mako. It's easy for her to like people, but trust takes a good long while and to get it without being Thing status is a pretty big thing. Just someone who could go 'no, that's not normal,' but be cool about it when it involved his brother just means a whole lot to her. It's not enough trust to tell him what her skill was, but to be fair, she wouldn't have told Kunzite either if she could have avoided it. :') So there's a bit of stock in listening to what he has to say because even if he's awkward, he's also good at being direct on pretty important things.
He also seems like a good brother and she actually secretly approves of him trying to keep things like he died away from Bolin. Because that's terrible. (She will still side with Bolin though because she's fine being a hypocrite.) But she would like to talk to him more, she does enjoy his company.
What are John's thoughts on Kira having a mindfuck ability she can't control?
