John's sad about it! Because Rose is his good friend, and even if he's pretty sure he's not actually going to marry her, he liked having her around to talk and confide in, because she's one of his best friends.

But as long as she's still reachable through the candles, it's more like it was at home. And John is happy for that too. I mean, better to have internet chatting than no chatting what-so-ever! So, he can still talk to her and see how she's doing, or tell her how he's doing.

She's gone, but not out of reach. Which limits John's sads.
